If Jesus were another religion, I would not have left Buddhism – Chungmin Cho, from “Why Jesus”
As an IP lawyer running a small firm with 20 over attorneys, I was a successful businessman in DC metro area. It was one late February afternoon on my business trip to Korea when I met Rev. Cho.
He led me to Jesus, and I am following Him since then. For those who do not know Jesus, I would like to share my trip to Jesus and and invite you to a journey together with Him.
Read on if you have been lost lately, or never found a way, because Jesus is the way to peace.
Jesus is not a religion.
Jesus did not come to make another religion; my Pastor Rev. Cho told me.
Then, who is Jesus, if not a cult leader? Why did He come to us? It was a hook. And I got caught. I got extremely curious.
I see many Christians going to church and praying for everything possible all the people are looking for, money, power, fame, curing from diseases, and many other wishes. Who are they? They are typical groups of religious people trying to reach God for their wishes.
It was the starting point that I studied bible to know more about Jesus.
Jesus is God
Who is Jesus? Jesus is God.
How simple it is! Choice is yours; either you believe it, or not. My trip to Jesus led me to believing it.
I don’t want to sound like a typical crazy Korean evangelist. I believe in Jesus as God, it is a more logical conclusion supported by ample evidence than denying it.
Jesus is God and was born in this world as a human being.
I believe in God, because I do not know Him fully
You often hear, “Show me that Jesus is real and explain to me all the nonsense surrounding his alleged miracle-filled life, then I will believe Him.” I was one of them. To me, all the story about Jesus did not make sense and was not worthy of sober considerations.
Well, accepting it with full information is not a belief, but a confirmation. Accepting something without full understanding requires belief. Anybody may believe in somebody if they can perform miracles. Well, performing miracles does not always bring in belief, neither.
Faith comes from God’s nature and character. By definition, God is faithful. He does whatever He has promised. His faithfulness brings me to having faith on Him. Nothing can be as faithful as God.
If you got lost, it is a good idea to find the North Star so that you could figure out your position and the way to go.
Finding faithful God is the first step to make a journey, otherwise you are just wandering!
Jesus had died on the cross
Who is Jesus?
He is God. Does God die? He is man. So He dies.
You said He is God! Yes, Jesus is God and man.
Jesus’ life is full of mystery. His teachings are filled with paradoxes. That is strong evidence that Jesus is God.
Jesus has died. It is strong evidence that Jesus is man.
This is the paradox and mystery of Jesus. It is the very evidence that He is God. We, human being, cannot fully understand God. God is beyond our perception. Think about how foolish it would be if you worship God whose character and nature you all know and understand. It is not God anymore.
Jesus resurrected
Human God, Jesus, was raised from death in three days. There were many witnesses who saw the resurrected human Jesus. Well, how do you know it? Because Bible says so. Do you believe it? Yes, I chose to believe it.
So, once you believe it, it is a really good news. Jesus resurrected as human. Likewise, we will resurrect when He comes back.
Nobody knows when it will be. I remain alert and prepare to be ready for the upcoming resurrection.
Jesus has ascended to heaven and intercedes for us
Jesus was raised to heaven and seated next to God. He reigns all over the world, interceding for us to stay following Him.
He sent the Holy Spirit to help and comfort us. He promised to be always with us. I believe His promise, because He is God.
Are you in peace?
Find Jesus and accept Him. Walk with Him as He leads.
He is God who created this world. I am at peace walking with Him.
